A wonderful benefit of living in (or near) a big city is the variety of food! Whether you try a new restaurant or go to a fest, there is always something new to taste. Every week, especially over the summer, there are multiple fests offering different and unique foods. As the summer came to an end, I found myself sad thinking about festival season ending and looking forward to apple picking, pumpkin picking, and maybe even a corn maize!
I recently learned of Apple Fest and became super excited with the prospect of celebrating fall and apples! I visited the Apple Fest in Lincoln Square, and although it was a small fest, it offered the fall essentials: apples, corn, pumpkins, beer, and…apple pizza! When I first read of this menu option, I expected apple and cheese, a typical but delicious combination. Instead, their specialty was a sweet pizza! It was brushed with whipped cream, chopped up apples, and topped with cinnamon. Dessert or dinner? I’ll leave that to you to decide!
